Villarreal CF round-up 14.12.18
Dear all, Hope you’re well! It was a great night last night with Luis García’s first match in charge of the first team ending in a 2-0 win over Spartak Moscow. That meant we qualified for the knockout stage of the UEFA Europa League as Group G winners. It was a really complete performance, with really good signs for the future. You can read the match report here:https://www.villarrealcf.es/en/news/item/22803-a-win-to-top-the-group-2-0. As always, football never stands still, and focus switches to the first team’s final match of 2018, against Huesca on Sunday at 6:30pm Spanish time. It’s not just the first team in action though, here is the full weekend schedule:https://www.villarrealcf.es/en/news/item/22789-weekend-schedule-for-club-sides. You can also watch Villarreal U23s (Villarreal B) against Atlético Levante live on Villarreal CF Live on Saturday. Kick-off is at 4pm:https://tv.villarrealcf.es/live/. Miguel Álvarez’s side are flying high in their division, so it should be a great game. As always, you can find today’s press clippings here (in Spanish):https://www.villarrealcf.es/dossier/2018/12%20Diciembre/Dossier%20de%20prensa%2014.12.18.pdf. I also have a few articles from our ‘Off The Pitch’ medium account I think you may enjoy reading. I definitely did! The first is a profile on Carlos Bacca, who’s recently returned from injury:https://medium.com/off-the-pitch-by-villarreal/carlos-bacca-from-selling-fish-to-scoring-goals-c27262c0f561. And the second is from an intern who recently finished working with the International Department, talking about her time spent with us:https://medium.com/off-the-pitch-by-villarreal/5-months-on-the-yellow-submarine-fbad8f67bc1d. Best wishes and have a great weekend
