What the international plans cover is non-emergent costs associated with healthcare. For instance, if a player breaks their leg while playing soccer, their primary health care would cover the emergent care. The international plan would cover any non-emergent situations and also provides coverage for things like getting the client back to the US if that's the best course of action for treatment.
I quoted up a couple of options for the 10 day trip. A 16 year old for $1M of coverage with $0 deductible is about $16. A 50 year old for the same plan is about $54. That is assuming they have primary health insurance as well.
