BACK TO WORK

The Yellows have trained at the Training Ground individually, under the norms of security and prevention

Villarreal CF are back at work. The Yellows players have trained this Friday individually, following the norms of security and prevention established by the health authorities and starting Phase 2 of LaLiga’s back to work protocol, after having passed the medical controls which were Phase 1.

The players have carried out the training session in distinct shifts (from 8:30am to 2:30pm) and on two pitches at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) to stick to the amount of players allowed on one pitch at the same time, which is six. In this stage, academy players Iván Martín, Andrei Ratiu, Sergio Lozano, Migue Leal, Fernando Niño, Alejandro Baena and Filip Jorgensen have all joined the first-team squad, as well as Ramiro Guerra, who is continuing his recovery after surgery on his right knee in February.

The players will have two sessions a day

In this second phase, the footballers will continue the preventative work that they have been carrying out in their homes during lockdown, strengthening specific areas physically before the next stage, where the training sessions will be in groups. During this second phase, the players will train twice a day, complementing their individual work on the pitch with a personalised plan that they will follow at home.

After this Friday’s training session, the Yellows will return to training on Saturday and Sunday at the same time, while Monday will be a rest day.
